The Art Therapy (Community) Academy is located in Setia Triangle, where you can see planes taking off and landing at Penang International Airport from our windows. This view symbolizes our approach to art therapy, where we take clients on a journey towards their desired destination and guide them to a safe landing. However, just like on a plane journey, clients must trust their “pilot” and treat their therapist with respect. Clients must also have a clear destination in mind and cannot change their minds mid-flight.
As a therapist, we aim to meet our clients’ needs and help them land safely at their desired destination. However, sometimes clients may face emotional discomfort or challenges, which may cause them to change their direction.
Looking towards the horizon, you can see the vast ocean from a distance. Our location offers a healing and safe space for clients to slow down and explore their inner selves, uncovering the stories they may have suppressed. We invite you to sit comfortably and have an art conversation with yourself, creating a pace for personal growth and reflection.
The mission of ATA is to provide the highest quality service by achieving client satisfaction, continuously striving for improvement, and actively participating in community work. Our aim is to deliver professional art therapy services to meet the diverse needs of our clients. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and integrity in our work. We believe in fostering a culture of learning and development to keep ourselves up-to-date with the latest developments and best practices in the field. We actively engage in community work to promote awareness of the benefits of art therapy and to contribute to the well-being of our society.

Title: The Person Holding a Lantern
The world is dark
People walking on the road
Feeling around
Unable to see
As they walk
Someone falls
Because they can’t see
They’re stepped on and passed by
Unable to hear the cries and moans
Unable to see the pleading eyes
The person holding a lantern
Walking on their own path
Steadily holding the lantern in their hand
Finally seeing the path under their feet
Breaking through the darkness of the world
Bringing a ray of light
Finally seeing the fallen person
The pleading eyes
The cries for help
The person holding a lantern
Steadily holding the lantern in their hand
Illuminating the dark path
Illuminating the eyes of the heart
Illuminating the direction of life.
