Dolphiner Awakening Art Series – Licensing Program
The Dolphiner Therapeutic Art Program (DTAP) was trademarked with the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia under the Trademark Act 1976 in 2013, and the Trademark Regulation 1997 in year 2014. It was reformatted as the Dolphiner Awakening Art Series (DAAS) in year 2019. This program started in 2009 when the registered art therapist, Ms Teoh from Malaysia, applied the art therapy approach in her school holidays’ program and therapy sessions. She discovered that it was amazing to have a tool which can be used by the children to express and release stress. The observations made during the process helped the parents to understand their children’s emotional state of mind, their behavioural issues, and also the knowledge to nurture a caring and healthy relationship with their children.
After many years of experimental efforts, she started to compile all the activities that she had conducted with the children to be turned into the Dolphiner Therapeutic art. It was finally upgraded to the Dolphiner Awakening Art Series.
The dolphin is a kind animal that lives together as a group in the sea. It is creative, playful, fun, smart, and filled with healing properties. With this thought in mind, Ms Teoh decided to put the idea of the dolphin and therapeutic art together. Through this program, she hopes the instructor conducting the program could bring out all the qualities of the dolphin into the guiding process.
Following the implementation, it was noted that the program not only worked on children aged 4 to 12, but also adolescents aged 13 to 18. The same program was finally introduced to the adults aged 19 and above, and those who were experiencing life’s crisis or turbulence. As a result of witnessing so many magical moments in the art making process, she decided to include “corporate art” into this program to serve the corporate employees as well. Consequently, the DAAS program also includes the following package, for those who are interested in joining us, kindly contact Kate 012-2273812 and Willow 017-9077408
All these programs are conducted by the Dolphiner Instructors (DI) who are trained with art therapy knowledge and skills. As DIs do not have accredited qualifications from the government in art therapy, these programs are developed so as to help the trained preventive art therapy worker or practitioner in serving the community well besides earning a living, under the supervision of the professional and registered art therapist.
With this in mind, the DAAS needs to have enough numbers of DIs to conduct the program. At the same time, with the vision of each state in the country having only one DC, it is deduced that the Dolphiner Centers (DC) would be an adequate space for the children, teenagers and adults to participate, and to express themselves freely without being judged and criticised.
The founder is hugely indebted to the contributions of the pioneers from the USA, and the UK, and many others for their inspirational research and writings that helped to develop these programmes. Last but not least, the development of these programs are also due to the contributions of past clients, students and the public that had selflessly provided their constructive feedback into bringing us to this milestone.
Dolphiner Therapeutic Art Program (DTAP) is a research program focusing on therapeutic art with the aim to foster children’s development wholistically. It covers various aspects, ranging from physical, emotional, social to mental wellbeing.

Tracing back to 2009, DTAP started off its journey when its founder, Bee, who was also a registered art therapist, adopted the use of this art therapy approach in her school holiday program. Since then, she realized that it was amazing to have the tool of art for expression and the therapeutic effects of the art. DTAP had make another accomplishment by registering its trademark with Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia (MyIPO) in 2013. For those who would like to join us in this journey, kindly contact Kate and Willow.
